LIU Post is planning to make scheduling changes for the Fall of 2023. The university is replacing Monday and Wednesday morning classes (1 hour and 20 minutes) with Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes (50 minutes each). This will not only force commuters to drive to LIU for another day of class but greatly affect the practice schedules of numerous teams on campus. The other change LIU Admin plans to make is common hour will only be 50 mins, whereas now common hour is an hour and 40 mins. The shortening of common hour will affect a variety of student organizations on campus, athletes who need time to practice, and also limited time to meet with professors for academic support. The university should not make such drastic schedule changes without the input of the student body.
