UK headlines are sizzling with the news that Papa John’s may soon be dishing out vegan cheese nationwide! TODAY: Celebrate National Cheese Lover’s Day by tweeting at the pizza giant to offer the dairy-free delight for its millions of customers in the US!

According to Plant Based News, a petition by Animal Aid and Vegan Food UK signed by 30,000 people prompted Papa John’s UK to announce: "We were pleased to see the positive response to the recent vegan cheese alternative petition, as this is currently an area that we are developing, and hoping to roll out in the not-so-distant future."

Here in the US, more than 100,000 of you have now signed Compassion Over Killing’s petition urging the chain to take a slice out of cruelty by offering vegan cheese. Every year, over a half million cows languish on dairy farms, forcibly impregnated and separated from their babies, to churn out milk for Papa John’s cheese supplier Leprino Foods.

Meanwhile, vegan cheese sales are sizzling--and Papa John’s UK isn’t the only one to take notice. Pizza Hut UK and Domino’s Australia, New Zealand, and France are all raking in the dough from this massive, growing market by adding vegan cheese to their menus.

But here in the US, Papa John’s is falling behind by serving misery with every single slice of mozzarella.
