Listen, Plan, Action

The Issue

The purpose of this petition is to make change in the way the NHS listen, plan and take action to what their patients are telling them about their body. Especially, when they are they are presenting symptoms.

My name is Claire Ramanouski, since 2023 I have had chronic pains which I have regularly presented to my GP and various consultants within the NHS. I have had multiple CT and MRI scans and been informed of no structural abnormalities within my pancreas. I have been diagnosed with various ailments including; anxiety, IBS, H Pylori and a hernia.

However, I knew that there was something more serious taking place due to severe weight loss and unbearable pain in my side, stomach and back. I told various healthcare professionals that I felt that I was dying and had cancer, but I was often dismissed and not offered any further investigation through tests and ultrasounds.

Recently, my skin and eyes turned yellow and I was informed that it was jaundice. I had blood tests, and it appeared that my liver function was out of range. At this point, I asked to be admitted to hospital as I feared that was something very serious as I felt very weak and unwell.

During my time at hospital, I had a CT scan of my chest, liver and pancreas, and there appeared to be lesions on my pancreas and spots on my liver which were highly likely to be cancerous. My chest was clear, but after 2 weeks I was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic and liver cancer.

Subsequently, it has been found that these previous issues have not been followed up, and the cancer could have been found in the earlier stages. Which shows that evidently, I have been dismissed when I had valid concerns after losing 7 stone and being in chronic pain.

I want to raise awareness and prevent this from happening to any future suffering individuals and the impact it has on their families and communities. Please join me in spreading this awareness and holding the NHS accountable for their mistakes and neglect.
