Although Sexual Assault Awareness Month has come to a close, the trauma felt by the victims of sexual assault remains in the hearts and souls of millions of survivors.

Many of those who have been traumatized by sexual assault made huge sacrifices in speaking out again their offender.  After sacrificing so much, there has generally been one theme that has remained...  many of the survivors hope that their voice will somehow prevent others from falling prey to the hands of their offender.

The National Sex Offender Registry was created to establish a national database that tracks the location and movements of each person who has been convicted of a criminal offense against a victim who is a minor, has been convicted of a sexually violent offense, or is a sexually violent predator.  Unfortunately, this does not happen, and many of the Nation's most dangerous sexual predators manage to remain in a "hidden" part of the registry, out of public view.

Child sexual assault predators, as in an estimated 33-66% of all child sexual assault predators manage to slip through such loopholes.  This practice needs to end!  As survivors, as parents, and as members of the local community, we deserved to be informed of the most basic information regarding convicted sexual assault predators that live in our communities.  True Transparency in the sex offender registery MUST become a reality, to enable each of us to make INFORMED decisions, and enable neighborhood watch groups to make their communities a safer, more secure environment for ALL!

We must not only continue to spread the message of the #MeToo movement, but must also recognize the importance of the #KidsToo movement, that strives to give a voice to the most vulnerable among us, our children!
