Recently the U.S. News and World report analyzed data from more than 20,000 high schools in the 50 states and the District of Columbia to create a national ranking of the top-performing campuses. Schools in the Longview area that received a designation are: White Oak High School Gilmer High School Union Grove High School Union Hill High School Carlisle High School Mount Enterprise High School Pittsburg High School Daingerfield High School Hughes Springs High School Gary High School Paul H. Pewitt High School Bloomburg High School McLeod High School Queen City High School Note: The News-Journal looked at schools in Gregg, Upshur, Rusk, Harrison, Panola, Marion, Camp, Morris and Cass counties. As you notice No LISD schools made the cut. As much sunshine as they blow up our asses, and tell us how great our district is and how much our children are learning then at least one of our schools should be on this list. At the end of this school year we will be loosing more employees then last year. Johnston McQueen will be looking for a new principle, Forest Park is going to be needing a new principle, which Forest Park has needed a new principle for some time now. As you see on the news and on social media there is always a LISD job fair going on, Trying to hire more teachers and staff,. This shows us that there is a real problem with how our schools are being run. We are allowing Teachers who really do not want to be their to collect a check and just sit on their ass. Same with some of the administration, and basically everyone on the "HILL". Our children are not getting the education they deserve, our good teachers are not given a chance to teach our children the things they need to learn. These days it is always about benchmark tests, TEEKS, Staars . Not about learning. Do we really want to sit around and watch this happen to our schools? Why am I the only one who will tell these people they are idiots? It is time for you who are reading this to help with the fight to fix what is wrong at LISD. Do not let the board feed you all the crap about how much we have to offer, do not go to the board meetings and feel like our district is great when they parade children through the meeting so you the community will feel that warm fuzzy feeling that all is great at LISD. Real teachers at LISD schools I applaud you for hanging in there and wanting to teach our kids. It may not mean much but you have my respect. Do not be afraid to stand for what is right. During the Hudson Pep debacle with Mrs. Welborn I saw how you came together in the hundreds and were angry with the board. Why is this any different? This still effects your children. Was the reaction and outrage because it was what all the "Cool PARENTS " were doing so it was time to jump on the band wagon? Do not be afraid to rock the boat when the people in it need a bath . Thank You, Jason Bates
