This is a comment I received from a concerned parent that should be shared. By sharing this with the community it is showing one of the many problems our district faces. We can read about all the positive things happening with our district, and I do not want to take away from that, but what I want to do is show that there are large problems that need to be handled so every child gets a proper education in our district. They only have after school tutorials for STAARS stuff, meanwhile the stuff my kid REALLY needs help in is getting further and further behind. The school says they are short staffed or just dont have time for tutoring but here comes the STARRS test and all of a sudden we have tutorials, but its not for what they're having trouble with it's strictly to boost the subjects in the ones who are doing good for the STAARS results to look good...Somethings wrong here, I have to pay for an extra tutor so my kid won't be left behind. LISD needs an overhaul or atleast my kids school
