Now lets us take a deep look at the title of this article. Okay so now that you have had time to soak it in how would you rate yourself? If I am rating myself then hell I’m a freaking 10! Let’s be up front and honest Longview ISD schools and programs that it offers students is great, that is not the problem. The problem starts at the top. The many useless jobs we as taxpayers pay for at the ESC, and all the multiple assistant superintendents. LISD schools offer great programs for our children only if they are managed correctly be a full-time superintendent who cares about the district and not their pocket book. The problems we face have nothing to do with our facilities and more to do with management issues and the incompetent people they put in charge. Once again I am going to compare our school to a manufacturing business and the item we are selling to the people are children with a great education. With any manufacturing facilities you run into problems with waste, and useless material that when taken out of the process create a better quality product. By saying this let’s look at the current administration and “SOME” board members at LISD. Let’s talk about eliminated waste in our facility. Waste meaning unused or unneeded products that we spend money on that is not needed and when eliminated make a product better. Number one waste needed eliminated is our part-time “POS” superintendent. By eliminating Wilcox we will no longer have to put money in his pocket and use that money to get a full time superintendent. Then eliminate the administration that LISD put in place in certain schools that have no business being in that position. We have too many people in management that have tried their hand at being a teacher but failed and instead of getting rid of the problem they promote. Makes since doesn’t it? Then finally let’s go to the ESC, now you can’t tell me there is not an overabundance of redundant jobs there. When you have great leaders you have great accomplishments. Just imagine if we took all the trash out of LISD how successful or schools would be, and how many teachers would stand in line to teach in our district. Create new discipline policies for our school make our teachers and student feel safe again. Can you imagine the education we can give our children if all of these issues were corrected? Our facilities, and programs we offer our students is next to none, but without proper leadership, management and structure it’s only a great building with great potential.
