My concern with this district's admin is that lack of respect and support for teachers and principals. The steady decline of scores in this district is inexcusable. People who have worked at one time at the ESC and heard the disrespect for teachers and principals. Beth Bassett needs to go. Wilcox needs to go. We need leaders who we can look up to, count on and RESPECT. It does not matter what color they are; a minority leader would be a great choice, but choose someone we can be proud of!! I have some reliable info on an LISD school. This place should be closed down and needs investigating. The principal has fundraisers quite often but no one has seen the money or where it goes. There is no documentation of it. They swear this individual pockets it. The PPCD teacher at this school has been reported to CPS 3 times and this principal always steps in a covers for this employee. This individual has been reported for drinking on the job. Teachers have reported this to Horace Williams, Andrea Mayo and Joyce Thompson. They were banned from ever going there again. This instructor doesn't follow IEPs. Has told parents of a 6 yr old that their child could only attend school 2 hrs/day due to a meeting they had to attend. In Feb the parents started questioning this and found out it was a lie. The kid could go all day. Once again the principal covered for this instructor. This teacher told a child that has a trachea and several other health issues that he/she was going to lock him in the closet. The child's private care nurse packed up the child and took him home and reported the teacher. Then once again the principal twisted things and reported the nurse to her agency saying she was abusive and walked off the job. This Instructor is known to whip his/her kids with a belt. This has been reported several times. How can this be ok???? The sped dept. not only is struggling to meet the needs of the students, the director refuses to buy the materials needed, so the teachers don't have the things they need to ensure the success of the students. Teachers send multiple emails and requisition forms requesting materials to either be ignored or to be told there's no money. You may find that people who work closely with the special ed director hesitant to share or speak out. Many people who have worked with the special ed director can tell you she will imply that anyone who disagrees or goes against her is racist. No one can afford to have her go to HR and file a complaint against them. Of course our district leaders continue to act as if nothing is wrong. I am not afraid to speak for all teachers, this director can label me as she wishes, but I will tell you this, I only tell you what is going on in our special education department, and the information I get is very reliable. I will not stand quietly any longer, and neither should you the LISD community. This corrupt district must be fixed starting from the top, and working our way down the chain to get rid of the trash littering our district. Please stand with me. Vote for new leaders on our board. Watch for me to run next May for district 1. Vote me in and I will be your voice, and I will take out the trash. Thank You, Jason Bates
