Make Faulkland Road safer for the Community

Make Faulkland Road safer for the Community
The Issue
On September 5th 2017, a woman was walking her dog to the Brandywine Springs Park off Faulkland Rd in Delaware. While crossing the street a car exceeding the speed limit struck and killed her dog, Max without ever stopping. The concern being that this park is used by the community and on the road adjacent to the park, Faulkland Road, there are no crosswalks or lights to control speeding vehicles as well as no shoulders. As an animal advocate with my own pets, this was an awful incident and completely avoidable. People need to be responsible for their actions but the government needs to be responsible for keeping these streets as safe as possible also. The community has expressed their concerns on an online neighborhood forum. Please invest in making the necessary changes to this road so this will not happen to another beloved pet or a child or an adult. Thank you.
