Lisa LaTrelle Blunt Rochester, born in 1962, is a prominent American politician and the United States senator-elect from Delaware. As a member of the Democratic Party, she has served as the U.S. Representative for Delaware's at-large congressional district since 2017, making history as the first woman and first African American to represent Delaware in Congress. Blunt Rochester holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master's degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware. Her diverse career includes roles such as Deputy Secretary at the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Personnel Director at the Delaware Office of Management and Budget, and CEO at the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League.
