This petition was created to get Lionsgate/Twisted Pictures/SAW writers, directors and producers to include Shawnee Smith in future SAW sequels, like the 10th instalment that is currently in pre-production.

Amanda Young needs to return, it's been long enough without her. 5 movies, to be exact.

She's a main character and yet we barely know anything about her. There's still SO much more left to explore. SAW fans wanna see more of her tragic childhood (the OG SAW III script stated that she was abused by her father). We wanna see more of how she got framed by Detective Matthews, how she became addicted to heroin in jail and what she had to go through in there, how it changed her psyche. We wanna see how she met Cecil, how she dealt with the guilt of the clinic robbery, how her and John's first encounter went down, how they bonded and got closer, how they spent their time, how the rivalry between her and Hoffman developed, how she got along with Dr. Gordon (if she knew about him, which some of us think she did). Etc. etc. etc.

Unlike Hoffman, Amanda had personality, charisma, depth, relatability...A lot of people, especially young women, relate to her a lot. Whether it's the aspect of mental illnesses, addiction, self harm, traumata or simply wanting to be loved, cared about and heard...Amanda's arc touches a nerve in many of us.

Her and John and their fascinating relationship are basically the emotional part of the franchise, they add another layer to the already existing gore and traps. A layer that sets SAW apart from all of the other iconic horror franchises out there. That's what we should be focusing on again...Character and relationship. Humanity. Instead of creating dozens of spin-offs or remakes that don't include any of the OG actors and that solely focus on making people feel sick and disgusted by the violence and the intensity of those traps.

And since both Shawnee Smith and Tobin Bell (who is basically already confirmed to return for the new instalment) seem to be up for it...Why wait any longer? GIVE US MORE FLASHBACKS. Or at least a movie that's set between part I & II or II & III (which SAW X is rumored to be).
