NextEra is holding their state required IUB informational meeting on 12/14 at Hawkeye Downs at 6:00pm. Please attend, we need your support!

Come to this meeting to ask the developer questions about their proposed 1,200 acre utility-solar project in Linn County, project 1 and 2.  Community attendance is important and we need your support! This meeting will be documented by a court reporter and filed into the public record with the IUB dockets GCU-2021-0002 and GCU-2021-0003. 

While this meetings about project 1 and 2. We learned with the application filing that NextEra and Alliant are also planning a 75MW battery storage facility that has a 2.75 acre footprint. What fire preventative measures are will be in place?

We cannot turn a blind eye to the more than 4,400 acres signed into solar leases, peppered across western Linn County. There is intention of future development after project 1, 2, and 3 if approved. Project 3, filing GCU-2021-0004 has not been filed with the state.Voice your concerns and questions to the IUB and NextEra tomorrow night!

Transparency is a huge concern throughout this whole process. These developers will only do what is minimally required of them from the state and county, nothing more. We have to show up with strength through our numbers and standup for what is right for our neighbors and our communities before it is too late.
