My family and several of my friends own very loving, loyal, and kid-friendly American Bullies. They are in no shape or form bred or raised for fighting. The new proposed bill 3709, by Rep. Higgins, in an attempt to control pitbull population is using pitbull as an umbrella of several bulldog breeds. This is a form of discrimination and punishment to dog owners who have nothing to do with inhumane treatment that others have submitted pitbulls to. It is stereotyping the entire bulldog breed and all bulldog owners. Law Enforcement and Animal Control should investigate those using pitbulls in that manner and punish them, not hold all bulldog owners responsible for what others are doing. Join the fight against breed specific laws. All dogs of the same breed are not raised the same and therefore, all are not violent and used for fighting. All bulldog owners are not the same. Punish those who hurt the animals, not the ones providing loving homes for them.
