Just over a year ago, I lost my beautiful nephew to addiction, he was 43. That was the second time in a year, addiction took a life in my own family. 

Since then several friends have lost young loved ones to addiction.

Addiction is the new cancer . Opioids and heroin is even more fearful than cancer because of who it strikes, young people .

We are asking for help, we need mental healthcare and addiction care to be more accessible. 

We are asking for real solutions, not lip service. Everyone knows there's a serious problem, South Carolina needs to lead the way to solving this problem.

The signers of this petition have personally felt the pain of losing someone,  whether it was a relation or helping a close friend through the pain.

Please, help us fight this horrible epidemic.
