Hello to everyone reading this petition. I'm a 13-year-old girl that's about to start high school. Many kids may get nervous about high school homework, friends, etc. I am nervous about that along with my safety at school. At home, as I'm eating dinner my parents would normally put on the news and all everyone is talking about is school shootings going on in some state that's part of the USA. Not just school shootings, but just all shootings in general. A 13-year-old girl is more scared for her safety than other things like lack of sleep. Now you may be asking then what is the point of this petition. Well, the point is to let local, state, and federal governments do something about it. Maybe do a weapon tax to limit the number of people buying guns, or increase the age someone must be to be able to buy guns. Yes, I understand that people think that having guns is good usage to safety, but more people are using weapons for the wrong things. More people are getting hurt because of this. Would you rather let people roam free and continue more mass shootings or allow restrictions on weapon usage to decrease the number of shootings? A data chart shows that in 2019 there has been fewer than 500 mass shootings that year. Since then there have been over 600 mass shooting each year with more and more people getting wounded. If you truly believe in people's safety and what's right then sign this petition and spread the word.
