These ads are not only irrelevant to me and many others outside Ontario but also excessively frequent, particularly during sports broadcasts. This sentiment is shared widely across social media platforms, with countless individuals expressing their annoyance at this bombardment of betting promotions.
These commercials are geographically specific to Ontario and therefore serve no purpose for viewers in other provinces. Secondly, the sheer volume of these ads has reached a level that many find intolerable.
We call upon broadcasting authorities and advertising regulators in Canada to limit the number of betting commercials aired during TV breaks—especially on sports channels—and ensure that such ads are appropriately targeted based on geographic relevance.
