Limit Investor Purchased Properties in Arizona! Give Families a Chance to Own!

The Issue

The current state of the housing market is out of control and is mostly unregulated. Especially after COVID, investors have swooped in and bought 1000s of homes. Investors, with their deep pockets of cash, have consistently outbid families to buy houses, leaving some investors to have monopolies in some areas of cities. Several HOAs have almost no owner-lived properties left. This lack of competition and reduced housing availability, has resulted in much higher prices to now rent these homes, that could have been purchased at lower rates by families. 

This petition is to give the 1000s of hard working Arizonans, a chance to have lower home prices.  Arizona lawmakers need to create a law where only 30% of houses in a zip code, or if the house is in an HOA community, 30% of the total houses in that HOA community can be investor owned. This will create more supply as more houses come on the market and are unsold due to the investor limit being reached in that area. Inaction on this petition keeps the status quo where investors can have monopolies and name their own price on rent costs.
