I’d like to start this petition to create a LILY ALERT.

A 10 year old girl went missing on Sunday, April 24, 2022 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Iliana, “Lily”, was on a bike ride returning home from her aunt’s house. She was reported missing around 9pm by her father. Her bike and body were found the next morning, Monday, April 25, 2022. The police have determined it to be a homicide.

An Amber Alert was never made due to the rules determining it. We need something more. We MUST have and do something more.

Certainly, any parent would agree that when a child is missing even for a short while, they need and would welcome the help from others to find them and bring them safely home. 

No child, no parent, no family, no friend, no community should experience this loss or the feeling that they should have or could have been more help. While it might be overwhelming to any police department to field phone calls for every child who is late returning home, more can certainly be done to help in this situation. I’m suggesting that a cell phone alert system be created with a “Lily Alert” whereby details of the missing child be sent to alert individuals within a radius of the last known location of the child. Details such as a photo, where he/she was last seen and what they were wearing. 

Iliana M. Peters, “Lily” is her name. She should still be here today, waiting for the end of her fourth grade school year and the beginning of summer break.
