Over the past three weeks there have been 5 unreported attacks against members of the LGBT community in Oak Lawn. 1) A trans woman was attacked walking down the street behind The Brick. She required stitches. 2) A gay couple was attacked walking behind Round Up. 3) A gay man was attacked and fought off his attackers walking from S4 to his apartment complex. 4) A TBRU attendee was attacked on Cedar Springs. 5) A man ran from 3 men with a bat between Round Up and Walgreens. Unreported attacks are an epidemic issue in Oak Lawn. If you are attacked, please call 911 immediately. It does not matter if you are intoxicated or undocumented. The police only care about catching the attackers. We cannot become complacent about the crime wave in Oak Lawn. The attackers were never caught and there are still attacks EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND.
