Petition updateLights - Cameras - Action: Increase Security in Oak Lawn to Reduce CrimeDPD Says We Have to Pay Extra for Acceptable Police Levels - Another Brutal Attack Last Night

Hello, As you all probably know, Geoffrey Hubbard, a Cedar Springs Tap House employee, was attacked last night at the intersection of Knight and Rawlins. He was assailed by 2 attackers who pistol whipped him in the back of the head - fracturing his skull. He avoided further injury by rolling under a parked SUV and fending off the attackers. Please contact Mayor Mike Rawlings and tell him that OAK LAWN NEEDS MORE POLICE. It is NOT okay that the city is not providing us an acceptable level of security. Their answer is that we need to pay for off-duty patrols if we want to be safe. This is unacceptable. Tell your Mayor and Chief of Police that having a low budget for police in the hopes that we will just pay for more patrols to reach an appropriate level of security is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
