Dear friends of Sea-Eye,
In a time of exclusion, hatred and incitement, we are sending a strong message of unity and solidarity with Sea-Watch: On one of the most dangerous escape routes in the world, we fight together for every human life!
Humanitarian aid knows no borders: Together with Sea-Watch, we are currently heading to the central Mediterranean on board the SEA-EYE 4, with a 28-strong crew made up of members of both organisations. The rescue operation is supported by United4Rescue and LeaveNoOneBehind. This cooperation is an important signal at this time - and a response to the ongoing deaths in the Mediterranean.
Despite the political obstacles we face, we remain true to our mission: to save lives and to draw attention to the systematic failure of state rescue operations. A few days before the German elections, we therefore call on all parties to finally create legal and safe passages. European civil society cannot stand by and watch people drown!
