Urgent action to address road safety on Brockley Road

Urgent action to address road safety on Brockley Road
The Issue
We urgently require action to address the road safety issue along Brockley Road (particularly between Beecroft Road and Comerford Road). This stretch is very wide and straight causing people to speed excessively and of particular concern directly outside a primary school. There has been multiple road traffic collisions along this stretch with several involving cars mounting the pavement. Despite the problem being highlighted to the council and police for over a year no action has been taken to directly address the problem. Sadly there has now been a tragic incident involving a young child being left in a critical condition after a collision with a car along this stretch. We need action NOW before further tragedy occurs.
We are being told there are no funds for addressing this issue and no one organisation to take responsibility (between council and metropolitan police). Unless we continue to apply pressure and make them see this is a serious issue that they cannot just put aside for a later date, it appears nothing will be done.
Our children and residents have a right to walk to school, to the shop or to the park without contant fear of death or serious injury.
