Do you like walking down the streets of Berlin and seeing a soulless husk of a building that destroys the beauty of the city? We need to restore and reconstruct classical and historical buildings lost during WW2 and decades that followed. Due to heavy bombardments across Berlin tens of thousands of gorgeous, historical masterpieces were lost and the buildings that replaced them are disgraceful and disgusting excuses for restoration attempts. Of course many buildings were restored but the amount is incomparable with the amount of buildings that remain lost. Modernization that followed the war made huge alterations to certain district across Berlin. Many beautiful historic masterpieces were replaced by soulless glass abominations. If this trend continues nothing will remain of the old world. Please people let’s restore what we had and what we lost. The city would be infinitely more beautiful if the old world buildings returned. Let us bring back the beauty of Berlin and in the future of more cities across Europe. So vote now because the choice lies in your hands. For clarity this petition aims to restore what was lost during WW2 and layer modernization. It may cost higher on short term but I assure you on the long term it will be worth it. The modernist buildings that replaced old world buildings in Berlin are made of cheap materials and are currently deteriorating and need constant maintenance. Take the Berlin Palace for example. Its Eastern wall is very contemporary and already has stains from the rain and is deteriorating unlike the other walls which are built with traditionally architecture. Hope this clears everything if not please inform us. The traditional buildings can be the facade and modernist buildings can be surrounded by the traditional buildings. The modernist buildings can serve as a sort of interior. As for skyscrapers their bases can again be surrounded with traditional buildings and the skyscraper can rise through the classical buildings.
