So after a response from the Police and Crime Commissioner who has advised that the police approach will stay the same regarding knife crime. I know we will probably have the same outcomes... unfortunately children killing children.

This country needs a lot more support, guidance and opportunities for the youngsters. More youth centres, talks in schools etc. It needs much harsher sentences for people carrying or using a knife in public.

The statistics are not just numbers; they are heartbreaking reminders of the urgency needed to address this growing epidemic. In the last 12 months there were 328 murders involving a knife or sharp instrument in England and Wales.

This figure underscores the severity of the crisis and highlights the necessity for immediate action. Alarmingly 89 young people under the age of 25 lost their lives to knife crime in the last year, with 17 of them being children under the age of 16.

I get that society has also changed, and certainly not for the better, more hate and violence overall, more poverty from the cost of living which leads people into crime and violence etc.

These are not quick fixes by any means but something needs doing NOW!!!

IT IS TIME TO ACT OUT, TO SPEAK OUT, AND TO DEMAND THAT OUR LEADERS TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTION TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN.
