Respected citizens of Visakhapatnam,

Greetings.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued G.O. No. 362, permitting the establishment of "Beach Shacks" along the coastal areas, thereby allowing the sale of alcohol. The process of implementing this decision has already begun. At a time when liquor outlets have spread across the State, allowing alcohol sales on our beaches is a matter of serious concern.

Visakhapatnam's beaches are visited every day by thousands of families, women, and children for recreation and relaxation. If alcohol sales begin on the beaches, they will pose a serious threat to the safety and security of women and girls. The family-friendly atmosphere of our beaches will be adversely affected. The reputation, culture, and environment of Visakhapatnam will also suffer.

Alcohol and intoxicating substances destroy families and create serious social problems. Instead of encouraging them, it is the responsibility of the government to regulate and control them. Therefore, we appeal to women, youth, students, intellectuals, environmentalists, democratic-minded citizens, and all responsible people to actively participate in this public campaign.

In the name of promoting tourism, the government should not sacrifice women's safety, the future of our youth, the dignity of Visakhapatnam, its culture, and its environment. We request you to extend your valuable support by signing this public signature campaign against Beach Shacks.
