Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 6:00 PM in the Wasatch County Administration Building, 25 N Main St, Heber City, UT 84032. The County Council, the County's legislative body, will address a couple of agenda items from those opposing the temple site. Those items include amendments to the Wasatch County Code to amend the way the allowed height of buildings, zoning maps, conditional use permits, subdivision applications, lighting zones, lighting limits, regulated holiday lighting, uplighting, and more are approved. These proposed items are direct attacks from the opposition to try and prevent the building of the temple in our valley.
We are asking you to consider attending the meeting in support of the temple. It is important that our elected and appointed officials feel and see our support. Public comment will be welcomed at this meeting. Arriving early around 5 pm is probably best. The County Council meeting is set to start at 4 pm but the public hearing portion of the meeting is scheduled to start at 6 pm.
Last Thursday, the Planning Commission heard these issues and forwarded these amendments to the County Council for consideration with a recommendation to deny their approval. Now it is time for the County Council to vote on these proposals. Let's also show our support in favor of denying these amendments.
Also, please take a few minutes to email our County Council members and County Planners to let them know one or two reasons why you want a temple to be built in the Heber Valley. They would love to hear your positive comments. You can email them at Council@wasatch.utah.gov and Planning@wasatch.utah.gov.
Let your voice be heard.
