Did you know girls as young as 5 years old feel they don’t belong in sports? Only 30% of parents believe playing sport is very important for their daughter, compared with 41% of parents for their sons. 

As I've grown up and played sports through school, I've recognized how I and other girls on mixed teams would get pushed to the back, just to support the boys. Every. Time.

We had really good female soccer players in our school, but because of the obvious bias toward the boys they would be put in the back, not getting the chance to actually help our team to the best of her abilities.

Young girls across Canada are impacted by this problem, even if they don't realize it. With this petition I hope to spread awareness and make a change in how our education system runs co-ed sports and find a way to create sports equal in schools.
