The Big Apple (New York) has its cheesecake. We have our humble boiled beans. And since everyone loves a happy ending 😉 — especially a rich, creamy dessert — a sweet treat to end the meal.

It is an eatable indexical, the very colour of the Karnataka state flag. Let us transform the humble sponge and cream cheese into an edible emblem of our shared identity!

 

 

 

Of course, making Red Velvet our State Cake is only the first step. Next, we’ll adopt a codified recipe, to ensure that bakeries across Karnataka do away with fake cream and switch to cream cheese and fresh cream for their frostings and baked goods!
