The Issue

We've all been there...when you're in a public place and a door is too hard to open.

This can happen for so many reasons: physical limitations, carrying too much stuff or delivering packages, the weight of the door itself, tending to others' needs, and much more!

It's time all doors in British Columbia become automatic sliding doors. Let's make the 21st century accessible for everyone and take action in BC to show accessibility matters.

Please join us in letting the Province of BC know that all doors in public places need to be automatic sliding or opening doors. Because this helps everyone.

There are way too many doors across BC that are too hard to open because they are not accessible for people using wheelchairs or strollers or because the doors are too heavy.

Automatic doors is a simple solution for businesses, nonprofits, government buildings and other public spaces to show accessibility is important and valued by the infrastructure that everyone should be able to use and access when needed.

Accessibility is not just about convenience... it’s about dignity, safety, and independence. When doors open for everyone, it sends a clear message that all people belong. Automatic sliding doors benefit seniors, parents with strollers, delivery workers, and people with disabilities alike. They make our communities more welcoming, inclusive, and ready for the future. Together, let’s open the doors... literally, to accessibility and inclusion across British Columbia.

Let's make all doors automatic sliding doors in BC!
