Install Cameras and Entry Policies to Fight Corruption, Dalal in West Bengal
The Issue
Corruption is a deeply ingrained problem in West Bengal, and it affects people from all walks of life. Many citizens are forced to pay bribes to government officials just to access basic public services like Land reforms, healthcare, education, and other government schemes benefits. This is not only an unfair burden on people who can least afford it, but it also creates a culture of impunity that allows corrupt officials and Individuals (Dalal) to continue their illegal activities without fear of consequences.
When citizens are forced to pay bribes to access the services they are entitled to, it leads to a breakdown of trust between the government and the people. It creates a system where those who are willing to pay the most are the ones who receive the best services, rather than those who need them the most. This is not how a democratic society should function.
Moreover, corruption not only affects the immediate services but also has long-term effects on the overall development of the state. It creates an environment that is not conducive to investment and economic growth, and it hinders progress in all areas, from healthcare to infrastructure.
We, the undersigned, urge the Honorable Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, to take immediate action to fight corruption and bribery in the state by installing cameras in front of every government office and implementing strict entry policies to prevent bribe takers and brokers from entering the office area.
Installing cameras in front of every government office is a step in the right direction, but we believe more needs to be done. We urge the Chief Minister to also implement strict entry policies that prevent known bribe takers and brokers from entering the office area. This will create a more transparent system that benefits the public and ensures that no one has to pay a bribe to access the services they are entitled to.
We believe that the government of West Bengal has a duty to protect the interests of its citizens and fight corruption in all forms. By adding cameras and implementing strict entry policies in front of every government office, the state government will send a strong message that it is committed to creating a fair and transparent system that serves the people.
We call on the Chief Minister to take immediate action and install cameras in front of every government office in West Bengal, along with implementing strict entry policies. This is a small but important step towards creating a more just and equitable society, where no one has to pay a bribe to access the services they need.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
