Let's Get a Pokémon Character Named After Avery the PokéKid!!
The Issue
In the heart of Seattle, loved by his family and adored by the entire Pokémon community, lived a brave young soul named Avery. For eight long years, Avery courageously fought a battle against pancreatic cancer, never losing his light or love for the world of Pokémon. His passion for the game brought joy not only to him but to everyone who had the privilege to know him. Sadly, Avery passed away recently at 12, leaving an irreplaceable void in our hearts.
To honor his indomitable spirit and his love for Pokémon, we propose a heartfelt tribute: naming a Pokémon character "Avery." This gesture would immortalize Avery's legacy within a universe he held so dear. It would also serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for countless other children facing similar battles, reminding them to hold onto their passions and cherish every moment.
Pokémon has always embraced themes of bravery, friendship, and perseverance—qualities Avery exemplified throughout his life. By acknowledging a fan as devoted and inspiring as Avery, Pokémon can highlight the impact the game has on its community and how deeply its characters resonate with people of all ages.
We believe this small yet significant tribute will not only honor Avery's memory but also connect fans worldwide in a shared gesture of love and support. Let us come together to ask The Pokémon Company to remember Avery and celebrate his life in the game he loved.
Please sign this petition to help us reach The Pokémon Company and make "Avery the PokéKid" a reality. Let's transform our grief into a powerful legacy of love and remembrance.
Avery was my favorite creator. despite being in a measurable pain, he kept smiling and was a generous soul. every one of his videos brought me to tears at how somebody battling so much could be so selfless. My goal is to get Pokemon to name a character the show and the games after him. I'm aware that there is a character already named Avery but my aim is a trainer with a Pikachu named Avery. Maybe even a card eventually.
