The City of Santa Cruz will start considering next week whether to suspend or continue the very successful Slow Streets program, and WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW:

Please write an email by Thursday with any or all of these messages:

• Slow Streets have dramatically increased walking and cycling safely outside during the pandemic
• The mile-long Escalona Slow Street has been particularly strong for the upper Westside
• Please continue the Slow Streets program through the pandemic for safe social distancing outdoors
• Develop plans now to make needed bicycle and pedestrian safety improvements permanent on these streets
• Consider reallocating Measure D street funds for keeping Slow Streets and making permanent improvements for pedestrian and cyclist safety
