Take our new email action here: ow.ly/C2TO30f9Sjo In March, we had a huge victory – the European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favour of farm to fork targets to halve EU food waste by 2030! Now the final agreement is being thrashed out in negotiations between the European Parliament, Council and Commission, and everything’s at stake. We’ve just heard that the European Council are now trying to delay the food waste targets being set at all, and if they are set, are trying to let businesses off the hook and focus the targets on consumers. This would be disastrous. The clock is ticking as the negotiations are set to end in October. The Commission urgently needs to stand by the Parliament to ensure the Council don't get the upper hand. We can’t let the European Commission hold Europe back, when we face the urgent dilemmas of climate change and food poverty in Europe!
