Thanks to all your #FreeTheFlag emails to local MPs, the Senate have opened an official inquiry into the current copyright and licensing agreements over the Aboriginal Flag.
Have you, your organisation or your business been affected by the Aboriginal flag licensing agreements and copyright? Then please, put forward your experience to the Senate Inquiry to help #FreeTheFlag
To our grassroots Aboriginal Community members, we need your voices here. If you have an experience to share, we need to see these reach the Senate Inquiry so that as many Aboriginal voices can be heard as possible.
We need as many people as possible to share how the current copyright and licensing agreements have affected them by the closing date of Friday 18th September. It’s as simple as sending an email to aboriginal.flag.sen@aph.gov.au
The Senate Inquiry will have public hearings live-streamed on Monday 14th September from 10am AEST. Tune in to hear from Gifts Mate, WAM Clothing and Birubi Arts Director - Ben Wooster along with the Director of Flagworld, SEED, the Arts Law Centre and the AFL.
Laura Thompson, #FreeTheFlag Campaigner, will be speaking live at 3.15pm.
If you would like more information, you can see more about the Senate Inquiry and the public hearings, you’ll find that here.
With your help we’ve come this far, let’s keep working together to #FreeTheFlag.
Yours in the struggle,
Free the Flag
