Why this petition matters:

MHA is campaigning for the Government to #FixCareForAll, so that every older person can live later life well.

Currently, just under half a million people are waiting to access support. And there are real staffing pressures in social care with an average of 152,000 care worker vacancies nationally.

We need the Government to fix care and better value the 1.5 million people working in care.

That’s why we are calling for the Government to support a Social Care Council:

• A new independent body that will represent care workers
• Raise the esteem and profile of care work as a profession, through registration and setting standards
• People working in care can come together and put forward the changes they want to see
