As we head into the festive period, many of us will be spending time with family and friends, talking about work, health, and the systems we rely on when things go wrong.
People who do not celebrate Christmas will have quiet safe offices to spread the word.
This is a gentle reminder to ask the people around you to sign the NHS Workforce Ombudsman petition.
This matters because:
• NHS staff are still raising concerns and being harmed for doing so
• Whistleblowers save lives — but too often pay a devastating personal cost
• There is no truly independent route for NHS staff when employers fail them
An independent NHS Workforce Ombudsman would provide oversight, accountability, and protection, not just for staff, but for patients too.
Over the holidays, please:
✔️ Share the petition link
✔️ Ask family and friends to sign — even if they don’t work in the NHS
✔️ Explain that this is about fairness, safety, and justice
Change doesn’t only come from professionals; it comes from collective public pressure.
Let’s use this quieter season to build momentum, so we start the new year stronger.
Thank you for standing with NHS staff 💙
