Let Homemade Juice Flow Freely – Reform Cottage Food Laws Nationwide
The Issue
Let Juice Flow Freely Again: A Call to Reform Outdated Cottage Food Laws
We’re calling on every U.S. Governor to take urgent action to reform outdated Cottage Food Laws that block freedom, limit access to natural health, and restrict economic opportunity, all while claiming to protect public safety.
These restrictions are not based on science, they’re based on industry protectionism, shielding large juice and pharmaceutical companies from healthy competition.
Meanwhile, consumers are denied the freedom to access real juice, and small producers like me are locked out of the market.
Since 2020, several states have quietly amended their Cottage Food Laws to ban homemade juices, even when pasteurized, tested, and frozen. This has:
Crushed small businesses
Blocked access to real wellness options
Stalled innovation without scientific justification
This isn’t about reckless deregulation
This is about freedom with responsibility, a system that prioritizes training, transparency, and public health, not government overreach.
We Propose Allowing Homemade Juice Under These Sensible Conditions:
Juice is clearly labeled as pasteurized or unpasteurized
Stored frozen or refrigerated for safety
Certificate of Analysis (COA) provided showing safety and pH level
Manufacture and expiration dates labeled
Fruit sourced locally when possible
If raw fruit and raw honey can be sold without interference, then consumers deserve the freedom to choose fresh, natural juice.
Unpasteurized juice is no riskier than eating fruit, it’s the same plant, just in liquid form.
Protecting Entrepreneurs Without Sacrificing Safety:
Frozen storage dramatically reduces risk
Allow use of business mailing or agent address for privacy
Remove unnecessary sales caps so businesses can grow
Allow wholesale sales for those who meet safety standards
Stop forcing entrepreneurs to reveal trade secrets, major corporations are protected, small businesses should be too
Remove “dietary supplements” from Cottage Food Law restrictions, since Congress already excluded supplements from this process
Empower Through Training, Not Restriction:
We’re not asking for handouts, we’re asking for fair rules and clear paths forward.
I commit to providing free guidance to any entrepreneur in America looking to safely produce natural juice from home.
This movement is about more than juice,
It’s about freedom, health, and the right to participate in the American dream without being shut out by industry-protected red tape.
We Urge Every Governor to:
Review and revise your state’s Cottage Food Laws
Allow safe, home-based juice production under smart guidelines
Support health-based entrepreneurship in your community
Remove trade secret disclosure requirements
Remove dietary supplements from Cottage Food Law restrictions
Let juice flow freely again. Reform Cottage Food Laws now.
