Devontez Walker is a college student-athlete who transferred to the University of North Carolina. He started his career at NC Central but never played there due to injuries and COVID-19 cancellations.

After the NCAA originally granted his immediate eligibility, they turned around and changed the ruling just 25 days before the 2023 season is set to begin.

Walker released a statement that details why he transferred closer to home, with a main reason being the health of his grandmother. Playing for the UNC football program this season will be the first opportunity that she has to see him play football!

There should be no question that this ruling should be overturned, as Walker should be considered a one-time transfer.
