Statement from Arthur Shuter, Bob & Darkie Supporter
It now seems that Bob is not the only victim of Mead Medical Services Ltd (aka Mead Medical Holdings Ltd or meadmedica).
BBC Radio Scotland are currently running a story on an incident at Kingsmead Care Home in Aberdeen, another of the 7 homes run by Mead Medical. This includes a press response from Managing Director Michael Best which seems to be par for the course.
Within the statement, Mr. Best seeks to lay the blame for the situation with the family of the resident, with no suggestion that the resident herself ever did any wrong. Yet Mead Medical evicted the 84 year old woman with dementia, who has subsequently died.
In Bob's case, Michael Best puts the blame squarely on his dog.
I give an undertaking now that I will ensure that the bullying and intimidation which befell Mary Gray will not be allowed to succeed with Bob.
For details of the other case just Google:
BBC Radio Scotland/Mead Medical Holdings
There are 2 reports regarding Kingsmead Care Home. The first gives details of the Mary Gray case.
The second is a recent report from the Care Inspectorate who seem to have very real concerns about the current situation and are said to be seeking a legal opinion. I have yet to get a formal statement from the Inspectorate.
I do believe, however, that the Care Sector and Michael Best are not right for each other. If David Mead does not see this then Mead Medical should be stripped of any right to operate care homes in any capacity.
