Dear Supporters -- it's amazing that 1240 of you are here! Hopefully 2026 is treating you as kindly as possible. Thank you to a signatory who flagged for us that the Regional District of Nanaimo is considering permitting RVs on private property, through temporary use permits at its upcoming January 27, 2026 meeting. 

THIS IS A HUGE SHIFT IN APPROACH FROM THE RDN WHO PREVIOUSLY SWORE NO LONGTERM RV LIVING WOULD BE POSSIBLE IN THE REGION, and IS A CREDIT TO ALL 1240 YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. 

PLEASE CONSIDER WRITING TO THE BOARD BEFORE TUESDAY to signal that you support a progressive longterm approach to permitting RVs on private properties (including residential properties) to acknowledge that people are already living in these units on private residential properties, and that a transparent pathway to permitting this use could help protect RV dwellers from harassment by bylaw and provide tenancy protection for tenants in RVs, and for property owners living in RVs.
