legalize psilocybin for medical and recreational use

The Issue

my journey with mushrooms has been a good one, i have found things about myself i never knew, and i have found joy within mushrooms and a sense of inner peace. I think that this joy should be shared with everyone, because it has truly helped me get passed some of my trauma, addiction, and depression. Mushrooms don’t necessarily numb your pain like other “drugs” (they’re hardly that) but they make you search through them, and rly dig deep down into who you are and what your going through.

It’s about time idaho progresses through legalization. idaho still hasn’t legalized cannabis, and mushrooms are in the same drug class as heroin and meth, even tho it has medicinal properties and benefits. it’s about time us idahoans got up and spoke up about what we want, psilocybin in a medicine and should be treated as such.

In extensive studies it has been proven that mushrooms can help reduce the affects of cancer, ptsd, depression, and addiction. A study by Nkadimeng and colleagues report dose-dependent analgesic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties of a certain Psilocybe natalensis species of magic mushroom. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophage cells were treated with three different 24-h extracts (hot water, cold water and ethanol) of Psilocybe natalensismushrooms. Antioxidant effects of Psilocybe natalensis mushrooms were confirmed when all three extracts inhibited lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide. Anti-inflammatory effects of Psilocybe natalensis mushrooms were confirmed upon the inhibition of prostaglandin E2, and interleukin 1β cytokine (pubmed central).

additionally Johns Hopkins researchers report that a small number of longtime smokers who had failed many attempts to drop the habit did so after a carefully controlled and monitored use of psilocybin, the active hallucinogenic agent in so-called "magic mushrooms,” in the context of a cognitive behavioral therapy treatment program.(hopkins.org).

we need to move forward in natural medicine and inbrace the love that mushrooms have to give<3
