Let's admit it, US immigration is completely broken, Republicans and Democrats can never agree to fix this, and poor immigrants have to suffer.

During recent tech layoffs, lots of immigrants have been, and more will be, laid off, who then have to leave US immediately. They have usually few weeks to find a job that is next to impossible in this economy. Other way is to marry someone who you know, especially another immigrant, which lets you stay in the US on a spouse visa, but lots of times those immigrants themselves are married and cant help you out.

This is a perfect solution for that problem, and one that can get support from all political sides. This way an immigrant with a job can marry multiple spouses and help them retain their residency in the US. Republicans will support it as they love the idea of having multiple wives. Democrats will support it as liberals are anyway into polyamory everywhere, so it gives them legitimacy. And Big Tech lobby loves it as it reduces their immigration headaches and costs. Win-win-win.
