The majority of Indiana's citizens, around 80%, are supportive of legalizing marijuana in the state. Regrettably, even though our representatives often promise action, there has been little progress. Recognizing the proven medical uses, like for PTSD, and potential economic benefits of marijuana could bring a sea change. The estimated tax revenue from legalized marijuana could be hundreds of millions of dollars in our state alone, funding that could strongly elevate the quality of life for countless Hoosiers. Furthermore, individuals will continue using marijuana, legal or not. So, it is both beneficial and practical for our state to legalize and regulate its usage, thereby ensuring public safety while also profiting from it.
