Legalize Death With Dignity for All Suffering from Terminal, Chronic, and Mental Illnesses
The Issue
My name is Ryan Pack. I am a living testament to the daily struggle of living with multiple illnesses - major recurrent depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, OCD, severe PTSD, neuropathy, gastritis and a persecutory delusional disorder. Each day is an uphill battle against severe and uncontrollable pain. This is my reality - a reality shared by countless others who suffer from terminal illnesses, mental illnesses or chronic diseases.
We believe in the right to die with dignity. It's not about giving up; it's about having control over our own lives when everything else seems uncontrollable. We are not alone in this belief as various surveys indicate that 72% of Americans support euthanasia for terminally ill patients (Gallup Polls). Yet many states still do not recognize this fundamental human right.
It's time we change that narrative. It's time we give people like me the choice to end their suffering on their own terms without feeling guilty or being criminalized for it.
We call upon lawmakers across all states to legalize Death With Dignity for all individuals diagnosed with terminal illness, mental illness or chronic disease immediately after diagnosis if they so choose.
Please sign this petition if you believe in our cause – because no one should be forced to live a life of unjust pain.
