The Issue

We, the undersigned pet lovers, veterinarians, and concerned citizens of India, respectfully urge the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) to recognize the urgent need for approving GS-441524 as a life-saving treatment for cats suffering from Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

FIP is a fatal disease affecting thousands of cats across India, and GS-441524 is globally acknowledged as the most effective treatment. While this antiviral is available in several countries through compassionate or veterinary use, Indian laws still do not permit its legal sale or distribution.

We request the Indian government to:

-Grant emergency veterinary-use authorization for GS-441524

-Initiate fast-track regulatory review

-Encourage Indian pharmaceutical firms to manufacture the compound under proper licensing

-This move will save countless lives, reduce black market exploitation, and empower veterinarians to offer ethical, science-backed care.
