To whom it may concern, 

We, the Lebanese students facing official exams this year, have been living a life of uncertainty, doubt, and confusion ever since the times of civil unrest that began on October 17 last year. To make matters worse, the COVID-19 outbreak in Lebanon has caused further panic and fear among the Lebanese. This has all resulted in almost two months (and counting) where schools across the nation closed. We remain optimistic, but we ask of the Minister and the Ministry to take our hardships into consideration. Online learning is an excellent substitute, but can only be used as an alternative. It can never be as sufficient or as effective as face to face learning, and thus can never be considered equivalent in terms of the amount of material taught. We respect your decision and determination to go on with the Official Exams, as it represents a beacon of hope and optimism that the nation so badly needs in these times of trouble. However, all we ask of you is to reconsider the practicality and feasibility of going on with the Official Exams. We at least ask of you to alter the way the exams are prepared, to make them easier for us, by removing material, or giving us the option to choose between some questions and others.

نحن الطلاب اللبنانيون في مرحلتي المتوسط والثانوي، نعيش حياة حيرة وارتباك منذ زمن الحراك المدني الذي بدأ في ١٧ تشرين الأول من العام الماضي. ومما زاد الطين بلة أن تفشي فيروس كورونا المستجد تسبب المزيد من الذعر والخوف بين اللبنانيين. كل هذا أدى إلى ما يقرب من شهرين حيث أغلقت المدارس على كافة الأراضي اللبنانية. ما زلنا متفائلين، لكننا نطلب من معالي الوزير والوزارة أن يأخذوا مصاعبنا بعين الاعتبار. يعد التعلم عبر الإنترنت بديلاً ممتازًا ، ولكن لا يمكن استخدامه إلا كبديل. لا يمكن أبداً أن تكون كافية أو فعالة مثل التعلم وجهاً لوجه ، وبالتالي لا يمكن اعتبارها متكافئة من حيث كمية المواد التي يتم تدريسها. نحن نحترم قراركم وعزمكم على القيام بالامتحانات الرسمية ، لأنها تمثل منارة أمل وتفاؤل يحتاجها لبنان في هذه الأوقات الصعبة. ومع ذلك، كل ما نطلبه منكم هو إعادة النظر في إمكانية القيام بالامتحانات الرسمية. نطلب منكم على الأقل تغيير طريقة تحضير الاختبارات ، لتسهيلها علينا ، عن طريق إزالة المواد ، أو منحنا فرصة الاختيار بين بعض الأسئلة وغيرها
