Save the Monarch Butterfly extinction by creating a pesticide free corridor

The Issue

I am working on a project to assist the Monarch Butterfly. This species is a transcontinental phenomenon, involving Canada, the USA, and Mexico irrespective of borders or politics.  Recently I found out they are an endangered species threatened with extinction, as, during their migration between Mexico and Ontario, the plants they rely on for food are being killed by pesticides.

This is the largest insect migration on the planet and it is in rapid decline.  A few years ago there were more than 50 million, and recent counts show that less than 2 million make it to Mexico.   The UN has designated eight sanctuaries in Mexico that have been providing work for locals, however there are now fewer tourists visiting now that the monarch populations are decreasing.

It is time to "Save the Monarch Butterfly" and increase awareness of this tragedy. The project is to enforce a free pesticide corridor from Ontario Canada all the way to Michoacan Mexico along and on the sides the highways or major freeway, protecting the plants they eat and where they leave their cocoons.

In February 2014, a group of environmental specialists from Mexico gave the 3 Presidents, Obama, Harper, and Pena Nieto this proposed solution but to date nothing has been done.  It is time to implement this simple and effective solution

Won't you please assist me in saving this special butterfly, so that generations to come may enjoy them.
