ENGLISH VERSION: As we celebrate Lara Croft's return after years of silence, the French-speaking community faces an unanswered question: Who will voice the legendary Lara Croft—returning in her classic form 18 years after the conclusion of *Tomb Raider: Underworld*? It seems Françoise Cadol’s involvement is not set in the stone yet.

Following the game's reveal at the 2025 Game Awards, Jessica Monceau (known for voicing Daisy Ridley) was heard voicing Lara Croft for 'Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis' and 'Tomb Raider: Catalyst'. However, it was quickly revealed that Jessica had only voiced the trailer and had no actual connection to the Tomb Raider project.

No information regarding the French cast has surfaced since; although a new trailer premiered during PlayStation's "State of Play" live event, the French version featured a completely different voice for Lara—an unknown one, despite the community's best efforts to identify this new Lara.

Yet, amidst this lack of information, the legendary Françoise Cadol—the original voice of Lara Croft who voiced every iteration of the heroine prior to the 2013 reboot—returned for a collaboration between 'Tomb Raider' and 'The Crew: Motorfest' celebrating the franchise's 30th anniversary. This marked the first time Françoise Cadol reprised her role as Lara Croft since the 2014 release of *Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris*.

The first time, indeed. While the original titles developed by Core Design (1996–2003) returned on modern platforms through a collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr Media in 2024 and 2025 (Tomb Raider I-VI Remastered), Françoise Cadol was not asked to reprise her role as Lara. Instead, Aspyr Media used artificial intelligence to "correct" certain dated lines of dialogue, sparking outrage within the Tomb Raider community.

Since then, Françoise Cadol has successfully compelled Aspyr Media to release a patch removing those AI-generated "corrections." After such a significant slight, it would only be LOGICAL to bring Françoise Cadol back for future Tomb Raider projects (Legacy of Atlantis, Catalyst, etc.) to give both the voice actress and the French-speaking community the Lara Croft they have long awaited. We do not want a disaster like the release of the original Halo's remake, which featured a French voice that was not only unrecognizable but also mediocre.

We deserve better—and we have it. Françoise Cadol has repeatedly expressed her desire to return to the role of Lara Croft, and her appearance in 'The Crew: Motorfest' proved that she is still perfectly capable of voicing the character flawlessly.
