A popular film producer endorses our petition...Yayy!!

We met up with producer & director Tamma reddy bharadwaj from  the Telugu film industry; well known for films with powerful women characters like Prathighatana (2014), Urmila (1993), Antahpuram (1998) and Nandi award winning film Pothe poni (2005).

Mr. Tamma Reddy has been vocal about the problems that the women in his industry face, and also was part of setting up an association by the name, Aasra, long time back to help resolve issues related to the employees working in the film industry.

We set up the meeting to understand his first hand experience with regard to gender issues & discrimination faced by women working in the entertainment industry. While we discussed the same, in spite of differences in opinion, we also could find a common ground on how we could come together to change the narrative and hope to bring about a progressive & inclusive mindset when it comes to having safe work environment and practices. 

He emphasized on how it takes lot of time & support to bring about a change in the society to slowly erase the stereotypes which women face and insisted that more & more people should sign our petition to mobilize and nurture a community with shared values of gender equality & justice.

We are glad to be continuing the conversation with people like him, who despite having some opposing beliefs, is committed towards improving gender justice.
