San Francisco Giants: Retire Will Clark's number 22

The Issue

The San Francisco Giants only retire numbers for players who make Baseball's Hall of Fame. Will Clark was a player who carried the team during mid-eighties, into the nineties. He was part of the group that defined that era. Even after leaving the team, he still put up quality numbers, just not video game numbers like some of the players who were enhancing their performance. He should not be penalized for respecting the game and playing it right. I am sure that Will's life is just fine without the honor, but as a team, and as fans who grew up watching the team go from atrocious to champions, Clark was a major part in that early success. I don't believe that the Giants should rely on induction into a museum nearly 3000 miles away to determine if the team should honor one of its most important players. Please honor Will "the Thrill" Clark, and retire the number 22.
